The "Zhongzhi Vacuum Freeze-drying Technology Joint Research Laboratory" was recently unveiled at the Chiayi Campus of Biaobau University in Chile. The president of Biobio and the Chilean Ministry of Economic Affairs in BÃbio, and the Chinese Embassy’s science and technology officials jointly cut the ribbon for the laboratory. In order to improve Chile’s capacity in vacuum freeze-drying technology, China’s Ministry of Science and Technology relied on science and technology assistance projects in developing countries, and Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences and other research institutes united with Biabio University in Chile in 2012 and 2014 respectively. The year jointly undertook two topics: "Study and Application of Safety Monitoring and Vacuum Freeze-Drying Technology for Chilean Fruit and Vegetable Products" and "Study and Popularization and Application of Vacuum Freeze-Drying Technology for Seafood in Chile". The joint research in the past seven years has yielded fruitful results. In 2017, China donated to the University of BÃo BÃo with the model integration of typical freeze-dry processing demonstration bases. The BÃo BÃo Regional Government allocates nearly 2 million yuan for the basic construction of the "Zhongzhi Vacuum Freeze Drying Technology Joint Research Laboratory" and undertakes the results of the "Study and Application of Vacuum Freeze Drying Technology for Chilean Seafood" project - suitable Chilean industrialization of vacuum freeze-drying equipment and production lines. At the inauguration ceremony, China and Chile praised the pragmatic results achieved through cooperation and looked forward to the establishment of the laboratory as a new milestone, promoting the freeze-dried industrialization of typical fruits and vegetables and seafood products in Chile, effectively expanding efficient and environmentally friendly processing methods, and improving resources.
