Kumi FRP's independent research and development fills the domestic gap

A section of glass steel pipe (purchased by the product warehouse) actually has 13 utility model patents. Suzhou Jiumei FRP Co., Ltd. independently developed the ship and marine engineering FRP pipeline, not only took the lead through the China Classification Society (location contact) Far East Fire Test Center three-level fire test, filling the domestic gap, but also passed the US Southwest Research Institute's spray resistance The fire test received a type certificate from nine classification societies. Recently, Kumi FRP and a US company won the competition and won the bid for the ballast and sweeping system project of the world's largest 400,000-ton bulk carrier (ship-type shipyard).

Suzhou Jiumei Company is a “new three board” listed company in Panyang Industrial Park of Xiangcheng High-tech Industrial Development Zone. In 2006, Chen Helong, born in Nanjing Gaochun, the hometown of shipbuilding, came to Huangqi Town, Xiangcheng District to invest in Suzhou Jiumei FRP Co., Ltd.

Ship and marine engineering FRP pipes are mainly used in marine and offshore platforms (ship type shipyards) marine water systems, ballast, fire protection (product library supply and supply) systems. At the time, due to limitations in domestic technology, this material relied on imports. At the beginning of the company's founding, Chen Helong established a research and development team, and worked with R&D personnel to drill into the laboratory, sometimes working for more than ten hours a day.

For shipbuilding and marine engineering FRP pipe products to be used for shipbuilding, it must be certified by the classification society. In the certification process, the degree of fire resistance of the product is a very important indicator. At the same time, in addition to fire prevention, it is necessary to ensure that the product is smoke-free and non-toxic after being burnt. Chen Helong said: "The classification society has three fire protection grades, and the minimum standard must also reach the third-grade fire resistance."

After several years of research and development improvement, Chen Helong took the self-developed products to participate in the third-level fire-resistance certification test with enthusiasm, but the result ended in failure. Although no company in China was able to pass the three-level fire test at the time, Chen Helong was not discouraged. While encouraging the R&D team to cheer up, he went to the Institute of Nanomaterials of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to seek cooperation and technical support.

How can the FRP pipe be smoke-free and non-toxic in the environment of 700 ° C to 1000 ° C, while ensuring that its internal structural properties do not change? Chen Helong and the R&D team repeatedly watched the video footage of the test failure and continuously improved the materials. After hundreds of experiments, the formula of flame retardant dosage was finally studied. In 2012, the glass fiber reinforced plastic pipe independently researched and developed by Jiumei Company finally passed the three-level fire test of the China Classification Society Far East Fire Test Center, becoming the first product in China to pass the test. In 2015, the shipbuilding and offshore engineering FRP pipes produced by Kumi FRP increased the fire resistance to 1200 °C, passed the anti-spitfire test of the Southwest Research Institute of the United States, and also marked the “International Pass” for Suzhou Jiumei FRP.

Today, Kumi FRP has obtained type approval certificates from nine classification societies such as American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and French Bureau of Shipping (BV), with an annual output of 8,000 tons of FRP products, not only The main manufacturers of Chinese ship (stock) and offshore engineering FRP pipes have also entered France, Singapore, Germany and other places. In May 2015, Kumi FRP was listed on the “New Third Board” in Beijing and became the first listed company among domestic FRP companies.

PU Resin For Textile Coating

Polyester Polyol is a type of polyol that is derived from the reaction between a polyol (such as glycerol or ethylene glycol) and a dicarboxylic acid (such as adipic acid or phthalic anhydride). It is commonly used as a raw material in the production of polyurethane foams, coatings, adhesives, and elastomers.

Polyester polyols have several advantages over other types of polyols. They have good chemical resistance, mechanical properties, and thermal stability. They also have low toxicity and are environmentally friendly. Additionally, polyester polyols can be easily modified to achieve desired properties, such as increased flexibility or flame retardancy.

Polyester polyols are typically liquid at room temperature and have a high molecular weight. They can be further reacted with isocyanates to form polyurethane materials, which have a wide range of applications in various industries, including automotive, construction, and furniture.

PU resin, also known as polyurethane resin, is widely used in the production of synthetic leather. Synthetic leather, also referred to as faux leather or artificial leather, is a man-made fabric that imitates the appearance and feel of genuine leather. PU resin is a key component in the manufacturing process of synthetic leather, as it provides the material with its durability, flexibility, and water resistance.

The process of producing synthetic leather involves coating a fabric substrate, such as polyester or nylon, with a layer of PU resin. This resin is typically applied in liquid form and then undergoes a curing process to solidify and bond with the fabric. The resulting material has a leather-like texture and appearance.

PU resin offers several advantages for synthetic leather production. It has excellent abrasion resistance, making the synthetic leather more durable and long-lasting. It also provides flexibility, allowing the material to be easily shaped and molded into different forms. Additionally, PU resin offers good water resistance, preventing the synthetic leather from absorbing moisture and becoming damaged.

Moreover, PU resin can be customized to achieve different finishes and textures, such as smooth, grainy, or embossed patterns, depending on the desired aesthetic. It can also be colored in various shades to mimic different types of leather. This versatility makes PU resin a popular choice for synthetic leather manufacturers.

Overall, PU resin plays a crucial role in the production of synthetic leather, providing the material with its desirable qualities of durability, flexibility, and water resistance.
