South Korean Navy grants US company to upgrade P-3C maritime patrol machine contract

According to the China National Defense Science and Technology Information Network, South Korea's Korean Air has awarded a contract to the US L-3 Mission Integration Company to upgrade the South Korean Navy's eight P-3C "Orion" maritime patrol aircraft.
Korean Air has a large-scale (military) maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) business, and undertakes the task of upgrading the first batch of the South Korean Navy (Lot 1) P-3C to the second batch configuration. At present, the Korean Navy has eight second-generation P-3C aircraft. Under the latest contract, L-3 Mission Integration will design and develop an upgrade kit for the Korean Air, which will be installed in Korea.
