Electrofusion welding is the name given to resistive implant welding of thermoplastic pipes. It is one of two main techniques used for the joining of polyethylene gas and water pipes. Electrofusion welding employs fittings that are placed around the joint to be welded. Metal coils are implanted into the fittings, and electric current is run through the coils to generate heat and melt part of the pipes, forming a joint upon solidification. There are two possible fittings used in electro fusion welding: couplers and tapping tees (electrofusion saddles). Electrofusion Machines/Electrofusion Welders are used for electrofusion fittings welding. Electrofusion Fittings are a heat treatment method compared to butt fusion methods and are used to generate heat. Electrofusion welding is a type of pipe welding and polyethylene fittings, in which there are special connections that have electrical resistance wire to create welding melting temperatures. The electric current is transmitted through the electrofusion welding eequipment and through the control box to the two ends of the connection. The recalled product was a 30-pint portable dehumidifier, white, with a front-mounted bucket to control wind speed and humidity, brand name “Goldstar†or “Comfort-Aire†on the front of the dehumidifier, product model and serial number The number is marked inside the dehumidifier and can be seen after removing the bucket.
The dehumidifier is sold in the United States from January 2007 to June 2008, and the unit price is from 140 to 150 US dollars per unit.
The number of recalled products was about 98,000 units. The reason for the recall is that the power connector of the dehumidifier compressor is short-circuited, posing a risk of fire and burn. After being recalled for the first time in December 2009, Lejin Electronics (Tianjin) Electric Appliance Co., Ltd. once again received four reports of the fire caused by the dehumidifier, one of which caused serious damage to the family property and no personal injury report.
To this end, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that consumers immediately stop using the recalled dehumidifiers and contact Lejin Electronics (Tianjin) Electric Co., Ltd. to arrange free maintenance.
