Yamatake Launches HP7 Series Universal Photoelectric Sensor, Expected to Be Available in November

It is reported that Sanyo developed the "HP7" series of universal photoelectric sensors with improved usability that will be available in November 2011. To meet a wide range of applications, the "HP7" series is equipped with various models with different detection distances, light sources, and detection ranges. Prices range from 7800 to 12,500 yen (excluding tax).

The new product improves the resistance to ambient light such as fluorescent lamps and LED lighting, and it also adds the ability to automatically adjust the sensitivity. Light reflection and shading can be used to detect the presence of products, materials, and people. It can be used in production lines such as handling equipment, assembly equipment, and machine tools to reduce adjustment work load.

The new product optimises optical transceivers and signal processing algorithms and improves the ambient light performance of new types of lighting such as LEDs. It is also equipped with a function to prevent mutual interference, so it is possible to install multiple photoelectric sensors close to each other. Press the “Problem Resolution Button” button on the top of the sensor to automatically adjust the sensitivity to the optimal value. Unlike the original volume type, this new method does not need to worry about deviations in sensitivity adjustment. The mounting part uses a metal sleeve. Not only can improve the installation stability, but also shorten the installation time.
